The roots of CPI Vertex date back to 1964, when the antenna technology division was established within Krupp Industrietechnik GmbH. Building on this technological foundation, Vertex Antennentechnik GmbH was spun off as an independent company headquartered in Duisburg on January 1, 1993.
Over the following decades, Vertex developed into an internationally recognized provider of high-precision antenna systems. In 1997, the ground station antenna business of Bosch Telecom was integrated, further strengthening the portfolio. From 2006 to 2020, Vertex was part of the General Dynamics Group and firmly established in the international aerospace and defense sector. Since June 2020, the company has been part of Communications & Power Industries LLC (CPI) and now operates as CPI Vertex Antennentechnik GmbH within the CPI Antenna Technologies Group. In this way, CPI Vertex combines German engineering tradition with the global technologies and resources of a leading international industrial company.

Today, CPI Vertex represents over six decades of experience in the development, manufacture, and support of high-precision antenna and ground systems—ranging from classic SatCom applications and radio astronomy to deep-space and lunar missions. The combination of historical engineering expertise, continuous development, and international project experience forms the foundation of our success today. CPI Vertex is based in Duisburg, Germany, and holds certifications to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018.
